Eggplant Seed
Eggplant is truly a hot weather plant, needing a long warm season. For most areas, plant seed indoors 8 weeks before transplanting. Plant 1/4 inch deep in very warm soil (80-90 F), keep moist but not wet, and expect to up pot before transplanting outside. Once germinated, cool the temperature to about 70 F. Transplant after weather has settled into consistently warm temperatures, for most areas this would be sometime in June.
